Essay progress:
Two written, but in need of an edit and (much) better conclusions.
Outlines for two more.
Sources for another two.
Two about which I have no clue.

Okay, so not as far along as I could be, but I'm hoping to have another one written tonight and then to get my history one mostly done tomorrow. Oh, how I wish I had internet in my room.

Way to go- rejoice in the progress!
No use "only if-ing" the Inet. Hey, you're a lover of books! How about squirrelling yourself away in a quiet corner of the library to write? You might be inspired by the faint scent of ink and hardbound books wafting about, imperceptibly influenced by the eons of knowledge and creativity piled around you.
Of course, you have to be strong enough to shun the temptation to browse through anything impertinent to your essays; or worse yet, whoeheartedly engross yourself in some intoxicating tale!
Fatherly advice: Aim high- push to produce an excellent piece. Don't sell your abilities short by writing something just "good enough" to meet the requirements. It's when you challenge yourself to do your best that it becomes interesting, engaging and satisfying (goes for anything- writing music, a stage performance, blessing others...). It is that kind of commitment and drive that makes an individual rise to success or prominence in their pursuits- whether personal or professional.
On another note- I don't know what Christmas goodies you are able to create or lay your hands on, but try not to be jealous. The first batch of toffee bars is gone, but I am now nibbling on Chinese almond cookies and cranberry-walnut bread. MmmmMMmmMMmmm. I''ll try to save something for you from future batches. Looking forward to your return.
Love ,Dad
